A landscaper in Connecticut died on Monday after a tree fell on him when it tumbled in an "unintended direction," according to local police.
Timothy Healy, 50, was caught under the felled tree when Cheshire police and emergency responders arrived at the scene that afternoon, the department said in a news release obtained by USA TODAY.
Cheshire is located about 28 miles south of Hartford, Connecticut's captial city.
Healy, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, was taken to a hospital but eventually died from his injuries, according to police.
“Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) responded to the scene and is working in conjunction with the Cheshire Police Department to investigate this incident,” police said.
