The rumors are true, Lizzo has joined the Star Wars universe.
After making a surprise appearance on the April 5 episode of Disney+'s The Mandalorian, the "About Damn Time" singer explained why it was such a special moment.
"When I was a young girl my dad introduced me to Star Wars like a rite of passage," Lizzo wrote on Instagram April 6. "The trilogy's are his favorite movies and quickly became mine."
The Grammy winner played the Duchess of Plazir-15 on the sixth episode of the live-action Star Wars series' third season, created by Jon Favreau.
"When Jon favreau called me and offered the role of The Duchess I cried all day wishing my dad was still with us cus he'd be so proud," Lizzo continued. "Star Wars was a dream I never thought was possible."
The "Juice" singer also gave a shout out to Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed the episode.
"Thanks to Jon, Bryce, and everyone in the galaxy I am now part of the ever-expanding saga of the stars," Lizzo concluded. "I am in honorable company and forever grateful. This is The Way…. and May the Force be with you."
In a series of photos posted alongside her caption, Lizzo is seen hanging out on set with Jack Black, who also made a surprise appearance as her husband and counterpart Captain Bombardier in the episode, and Christopher Lloyd, who played Plazir-15's Commissioner.
Later that day, Lizzo posted a video of her and Jack dancing together in costume set to an audio clip of Beyoncé saying, "I am on to see my husband. I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy."
Lizzo's episode of The Mandalorian is available to stream now on Disney+, with new episodes dropping Wednesdays.
